Some of our staff has attended Kutztown University, West Chester University, Muhlenberg College, DeSales University, East Stroudsburg University, Bloomsburg University & Point Park University to continue their education in dance/fitness. They have choreographed routines for local high school musicals, Regional & National Dance Competitions, Disney World Performances & the American Dance Festival, to name a few.

Miss Janet Keppel, Owner

With 38 years of dance experience, Miss Janet began her journey at age 8 right here at our studio.  As a competitive dancer for 5 years, she performed in groups, duos, trios, and solos—developing a deep love for performance and choreography.  She has been involved in the competitive dance world for over 30 years and began teaching at just 17 years old in 1996.  In June 2005, Miss Janet proudly became the studio’s owner and has led with passion and dedication ever since.

As our Competition Ensemble Director, Miss Janet has guided countless dancers – supporting their success as performers and individuals.  Her choreography regularly earns top scores at competitions across all age groups and levels.  Under her leadership, Studio 5678 has been recognized with numerous standout awards; most recently in 2025, the studio was recognized at two competitions and received the Mighty Fierce and Technical Excellence awards.  In previous years, the studio has also earned titles such as Most Creative Studio, Studio Spirit, Precision Plus, Outstanding Tappers, along with multiple distinctions for backstage presence and professionalism.  Her students have also achieved individual success, winning numerous titles and convention scholarships along the way.  These accomplishments are a reflection of Miss Janet’s passion for instilling strong, foundational technique in all her dancers.  She is committed to pushing her students to grow—encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones, take on challenges, and discover what they’re truly capable of.  These achievements also speak to her emphasis on teaching her dancers to respect others, show encouragement, and carry themselves with grace—both on and off the stage. 

Miss Janet’s choreography includes recital pieces, competitive routines, audition and pageant dances, and special performances like the studio’s feature at Walt Disney World.  Beyond teaching, Miss Janet plays a role in every part of studio life.  She edits music, manages website/social media, designs recital logos and t-shirts, handles all studio communications, and much more.  She teaches students of all ages and levels—from preschool to adult, from beginner to advanced—offering instruction in both group classes and private lessons.  One of her greatest joys is watching former students return to dance after college, as well as teaching the children of her past dancers.  Her commitment, creativity, and love for her dancers make her the heart of the studio.

While dance keeps her busy, Miss Janet enjoys spending time outdoors in the sunshine whenever she can.  She also loves spoiling her dog, Denali, who occasionally makes special guest appearances at the studio. 🐾
